These guys roosted in their hundreds in a stand of trees in the buffer zone, outside of the core park area.
I was taken to the spot on my last day just minutes before I finally left Singinawa Jungle lodge where I was staying. It was fortunate we had just enough time to do this as the bats were one of the surprise highlights of the trip.
Apparently, the largest fruit bats can reach 16 inches long and have a wingspan of 150cm.
I have no doubt that these guys were in that size range.
